This training is for mental health professionals who want to learn more about gender in the context of therapy and other clinical work. We review theories of gender and learn about gender throughout development, clinical skills, and self-care. This training is designed for all providers with bonus material for trans and nonbinary providers. The impacts of colonization on gender and the importance of developing a neurodiversity-affirming approach to therapy are woven throughout each lesson.
I also offer a pre-recorded training about writing letters for gender-affirming healthcare. If you’re interested in that one for yourself or your organization, send me an email!
Training
-
Supervision
I provide supervision for Licensed Professional Counselor Candidates. I love to support folks interested in gender- and neurodiversity-affirming therapy, especially LPCCs who are trans and/or neurodivergent themselves. We might be a good match if you are skeptical of the mental health field and passionate about liberation.

-
Organizational
I have provided trainings about gender competency in a variety of settings for over a decade. Most recently, I’ve been providing ongoing training and consultation for a Colorado Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) and group practices around the country. I offer a number of different models catered to each organization.

-
Consultation
I offer as-needed and ongoing consultation services. I am passionate about nonjudgemental consultation in which we collaborate on identifying how you can be the best therapist you can be. In addition to gender and neurodivergence, I love to support therapists who want to explore aligning their practice with their values.

What people are saying
“As a queer individual I think this was the best gender training I have taken.”
“Jessie’s training was extremely informative both in a general sense of educating us on the process a person has to go through to receive gender-affirming healthcare as well as walking us through the specifics of what goes into writing a letter for a client looking to receive gender-affirming healthcare. It was a clear and direct presentation that I would highly recommend!”
— Licensed Professional Counselor
“I really appreciated all the different resources you provided not only for providers but also for caregivers and how you differentiated various stages of development within the videos. The information was concise, trauma-informed, and applicable to our work. I’m happy to have taken another one of your trainings and look forward to taking more in the future! Thank you for all that you do.”
